Bees are under threat, especially
wild bees. Factors affecting them
include disease, loss of habitat, and
widespread use of
pesticides and fertilisers.
These are the focus of many current
campaigns but they do not fully explain
why bees and other pollinators are declining at such a rate even in some organic settings and nature reserves.
BeeAware focuses on under-
researched factors that may be harming
bees and how those factors interact, in order to build a clearer picture of what is causing their decline.
Bees are essential for our food security, but
they are also worth conserving in their
own right.
We collect data and evidence through
field-based research and citizen
science in a collective effort to
save this important species.
